- Towards the end of 2009, eight scientists (four each from both China and India) participated in training courses on phenotyping for gene discovery and physiological breeding at CIMMYT, Mexico November 23–December 4 2009.
- In 2010, a follow-up course on drought phenotyping was held at CAAS, Beijing, on April 9–13 for a total of 27 scientists and postgraduate students (MSc and PhD).
- Data management workshops were held in both China and in India towards the end of 2010.
