Yesterday, 13th May 2014, saw a fresh and more robust ‘blend’ of breeding tools – the release of the enhanced Breeding Management System (BMS) version 2.1, courtesy of our Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP).
BMS v2.1 is enriched by improved usability, refined functionality, plus further enhancements and new features.
These improvements build on the previous version (2.0) of the BMS released in January, and are based on input from users. But even so, the IBP development team are not resting on their laurels: yet more enhancements are already in the works, programmed for release in the third quarter of 2014. More (IBP website)
In other related news prior to this release, earlier this month, cereal sciencitsts in Africa were trained on the BMS. The training was jointly organised by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and the CGIAR Research Programme on Dryland Cereals, with GCP providing additional support and facilitation.
