Research Highlights 2005 Research Highlights 2005

Winner: 2007 Gold Award from the Association for Communication Excellence in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Life and Human Sciences

This 2005 all-colour 40-page booklet was GCP's first attempt to present a selection of representative ongoing projects at the time. Together, they paint a portrait of the Programme and illustrate its mission. Written in non-technical language, the booklet explains how GCP orients and executes research to achieve impact in the scientific community and among the poor.

The first section of this publication spells out GCP's delivery orientation, a defining feature of the Programme since its early years. The second section highlights a selection of GCP's activities in discovering genetic diversity, whilst the third section focuses on using genetic diversity, featuring a selection of projects that develop resources that can be directly applied in plant breeding to capture traits and build upon existing resources, as well as showing links across several crops – investigating traits in one crop can provide valuable clues for other crops.
