GCP will be closing shop at the end of this year, and to assure orderly closure, tying of loose ends and smooth transition, a final General Research Meeting (GRM) will be held during the week of 1st to 6th September 2014. once the venue and detailed agenda are  determined, they will be posted on the GRM 2014 page.

Normally, the GRM is  biennial, and there was a GRM in 2013: the exception is to accommodate GCP's imminent sunset. But some things remain the same: as always, participation will be by invitation only, since the main focus is on GCP projects.

At this last GRM, it is envisioned that concentration will be on lessons learnt from the Programme’s decade-long research and networking experience, whilst concretising plans for a post-GCP future as GCP-born research projects and products transition to the CGIAR Research Programs among other initiatives. GCP's Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP) is projected to spin off and continue with a life of its own after GCP closes shop, and a proposal for IBP Phase II is at advanced stage.
